Can anyone, anyone at all, say they’ve never been obviously racially profiled?

That’s it….a simple question.  I’m curious as to other people’s experience.  I have a hypothesis, but am curious as to the specific.

  1. Yes. I have been racially profiled. I went to visit my old church in Sacramento which had been a racially-mixed church of some fame as an ex-hippie church (with one white and one black pastor.)
Our church sold to a black pentecostal congregation.
Knowing that church historians would appreciate some current photos and video footage of changes, I walked in it when it was open and they were suspicious and hostile to me–all of them were rude to me despite my age and happy explanations how glad I was to visit!
What were they afraid of? A white woman? An old white woman? An old white woman hobbling about with her walker? Really!
No wonder I didn’t see any other white folks inside!
I’m still mad about that and maybe someday I will write to someone who can do something about it.
Even if it is to shame them into realizing that everyone is capable of bias and even reverse discrimination.
And at a Christian church where they are supposed to believe that we all are equal! :(
